While the pairing may seem strange to the uninformed, Peter Moore’s 37-year-old design cheekily nods to one of Leslie’s most important accomplishments: the first dunk in WNBA history. “Court Purple,” “Clear Emerald” and vibrant gold take over each iconic panel on the upcoming Nike Dunk, with “9” figures – the number worn by the Compton, California-native – being stitched on the lateral heel. Nylon tongues also follow the aforementioned color scheme, while Air Jordan 1 -reminiscent sole units underfoot deviate from the Sparks-informed style with their “White” and “Black” duo.
